NEW LICENSING REQUIREMENT FOR APPRENTICES - Senate Bill 470, passed in the 81st Regular Session of the Texas Legislature, amends the Texas Electrical Safety and License Act (Occupations Code, Chapter 1305). This amendment creates an annual four-hour continuing education requirement for renewing electrical apprentice licenses if the licensee is not enrolled in an apprenticeship training program. The change in law applies to the renewal of a license that expires on or after September 1, 2010.
